[Transfer SQL Server Objects Task] Error: Table does not exist at the source.

Hello,

I am running a package that used to transfers data from one SQL2005 to another SQL2005. There are multiple schemas associated with the database. Until recently, this pacakage would work. Now I am getting the following error for all the tables not owned by dbo:

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Thanks, sck10

[Transfer SQL Server Objects Task] Error: Table "tblAudiocast" does not exist at the source.

Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 9.00.3042.00
Microsoft Analysis Services Client Tools 2005.090.3042.00
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2000.085.1117.00 (xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158)

Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.11
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.50727.832
Operating System 5.1.2600

May be it;s a direct error that in the source "tblAudiocast" table may not be exisiting or renamed!!!

Or check the connection strings if it's pointing to the correct data base!!

Thanks Dev, but all the tables exist. We copy the schema from the production database to the local database, so they are duplicates. And it works for tables that belong to dbo only, but fails for all other tables.

This thread describes the same problem - it's a known bug. It may have been fixed in SP2, but I'm not positive.

[scheduling] SSIS Package fails, but scheduler reports success

I have an SSIS Package that executes a stored procedure. It turns out my stored procedure was missing.

However, the SQL Job Scheduler reported that step as success.

Can anyone tell me why?

`Le

Because your package is not exiting with an indication of success/failure.

Moved to the SSIS forum.

|||
when I run it through the command line, it indeed gives me an error code of (1).

But the Scheduler still tells me that it is successful.

`Le
|||You need to check the JOB action to take when a step fails -perhaps it is set to continue and report success.|||The step itself is trying to run a stored procedure that does not exist. The Sql schedule should report a failure, but it is not. It reports a success.

The Sql Server job says "quit with failure" when there is an error. There is clearly a different problem here.

It is difficult to help you when you have all of the details and we don't. We can't see what you are doing and what happens, Your descriptions are incomplete and do not allow a good problem determination and resolution.

Please post the entire command line that you are having problems with, including any success/failure statements after it executes.

Is this being executed by the Windows Scheduler?

What version of SQL Server are you using?

Thank you for your reply. I will attempt to be more detailed:

SQL SERVER: 2005
VISUAL STUDIO: 2005
SSIS File Name: Foo.dtsx
Configuration File Name: Config.dtsConfig

This config file has multiple steps, including one step that executes a Stored Procedure.

When I run this through a command line, I run it as:
dtexec.exe /FILE "\\MyServer\Foo.dtsx.dtsx" /CONFIGFILE "\\MyServer\Config.dtsConfig" /MAXCONCURRENT " -1 " /CHECKPOINTING OFF /REPORTING E

When it is run this way, process exits with error (1), because the Stored Procedure in question does not exist on the database. This is the correct error message.

When I run it through SQL SERVER 2005 SCHEDULER, I run it as a SSIS package, with the command line:
/FILE "\\MyServer\Foo.dtsx.dtsx" /CONFIGFILE "\\MyServer\Config.dtsConfig" /MAXCONCURRENT " -1 " /CHECKPOINTING OFF /REPORTING E

However, the package always exits with success.

|||if a task inside a SSIS Package fails doesn't mean that the whole package fails
and the sql agent step would only report an error if the whole package fails

so you could set the property 'Fail Package on failure' to TRUE ... in the task where you execute this stored procedure.

|||When I run the package via command line (dtexec.exe), I do get fail message:

[MSSQLServer] [DTS] How to avoid a DTS Package be reentrant

Hello.
I am designing a DTS package that should not to be executed more than two instances of this package.
Something like "If App.PrevInstance = True Then End" in Visual Basic, but I want to do the similar thing with my DTS Package, so that the same package will not be executed (just quit) in same time.
I'm wondering if I can add an ActiveX step to cope with this, to validate whether the following steps can be controlled to be executed or not.
Thank you in advance,
NokSearch SQLDTS (http://www.sqldts.com) website for any examples.

[Microsoft][ODBC Text Driver] error

Hello,
I am trying to import test file into a SQL Server 2000 database. If I
run the dts package manually I do not receive any errors. However when
I try and attempt to run the same package with dtsrun I receive the
following error.
Error string: [Microsoft][ODBC Text Driver] '(unknown)' is not a
valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled
correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file
resides
The path of the file is set correctly in the ODBC connection. Any
insight or assistance would be imprecated.

Hi
Are you running DTSRun from a command prompt?
Why are you using a DSN?
Have you tried creating the package using the Import Wizard?

Hi
If you manually run the command from a command prompt does it work?
If xp_cmdshell is running from a job, then make sure service accounts
have access to the directory/file.

Thanks, If I manually run the command from the command prompt it does
work, however if I try and run using xp_cmdshell I receive the error.
Both SQLAgent and MSSQL services have access to the directory/file|||When you are running it from EM, the package will use your logon to
determine the right and security to access a file but this will not be the
case when running it from a service (xp_cmdshell, DTS_Run or any other
service like SQL-Agent).
Also, if you are not using a UNC pathway but a drive letter (such as C:\);
many of these drive letters will be unknown to system accounts and other
accounts other than your own login. If you have used a driver letter, you
should replace with its full UNC name.

Hi
You don't say what the service accounts are. The LOCALSYSTEM will not
have access to network resources, so it would have to be a domain
account. Try logging in as this account and run the package from the
command prompt.
John|||I am using a domain account that has access to the file. I am using
the [ODBC Text Driver] which does not allow you to use a UNC in the
pathway.

So logging in as this account, you can run the job/package

[Microsoft][ODBC Text Driver] error

Hello,
I am trying to import test file into a SQL Server 2000 database. If I
run the dts package manually I do not receive any errors. However when
I try and attempt to run the same package with dtsrun I receive the
following error.
Error string: [Microsoft][ODBC Text Driver] '(unknown)' is not a
valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled
correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file
resides
The path of the file is set correctly in the ODBC connection. Any
insight or assistance would be imprecated.
Thanks

John
|||When you are running it from EM, the package will use your logon to
determine the right and security to access a file but this will not be the
case when running it from a service (xp_cmdshell, DTS_Run or any other
service like SQL-Agent).
Also, if you are not using a UNC pathway but a drive letter (such as C:\);
many of these drive letters will be unknown to system accounts and other
accounts other than your own login. If you have used a driver letter, you
should replace with its full UNC name.

the [ODBC Text Driver] which does not allow you to use a UNC in the

Hi
So logging in as this account, you can run the job/package

[help] How do I have Asp.net kick off an SSIS Package on a different server?

Hello, I was wondering if someone can help me with an ASP.NET question. We have been having troubles with our web server, and I don't know where else to turn.

We are running an asp.net (vb.net) with IIS on ourWebServer.

We are running Sql Server 2005 / SSIS on ourDatabaseServer.

SQL Server and IIS are running on separate machines. This is by design.

We are trying to get our Asp.net to kick off an SSIS package, but we are unable to do this since the software is on separate servers.

(If both are installed on the web server, we can directly call the SSIS package. If both are installed on the Database Server, we can implement a web service on the Database Server, and call that web service from the Web Server.)

Thank you,

~Le

How are you trying to do that?

|||

>>How are you trying to do that?

Currently we are not doing it, which is why I am here.

On development, we are able to call the SSIS directly from Asp.net, as long as IIS and Integration Services is on the same machine.

In a different development environment, IIS is installed on the Machine01 and ISS + Integration Services is installed on Machine02. The Asp.net page runs off of Machine01 and calls a Web Service that is running on Machine02. That Web Service is able to activate the SSIS since Integration Services is on the same machine.

On our production server, we will not have either luxury. IIS is installed on the Web Server and Integration Services is installed on the Database Server.

So, how can we run it in our production environment?

~Le

Sorry for the late reply, but I still dont understand that what will change in new development environment.

Currently you have SSIS on database server and asp.net(with IIS) on different machine and later its going to be the same. You can have the webservice running either on your asp.net machine or on Machine02, whichever you prefer.

[264] An attempt was made to send an email when no email session has been established

Hi

I have go an integration service package which sends email on completion of the package. It is not a notification email. The email is being sent from the integartion service package.

The package is being scheduled using SQL Agent Job scheduler. It has few steps each and every step sends a mail on completion and then it moves to the next step. If i run each step seperately. It completes the job and fails when sending the email.

Giving the error

[264] An attempt was made to send an email when no email session has been established.

The wierd part is that sometime it sends but some times it does give me this error.

Any help in this regard is very much appreciated.

Thanks
